Graffiti de luxe is a project inspired by urban expression.
Tags, scratches, graffiti’s often considered as a simple devastation of public places become the main motives of my work. Wherever I travel or pass by, I take pictures of old walls, lifts or bar tables marked by incidental inscriptions. Their esthetical and social value is the main inspiration of my paintings. I print them on a golden background using silkscreen technique. Gold, traditionally associated with wealth, gives them a new status.Can they, taken out from their ordinary context, gain new quality in today’s materialistic society?
